Good question. I’d need to go back to the source data and pull down a raft of diagnoses. The trouble here, though, is that the ICD framework changes over time, as does emphasis and fashion, so we’re not looking at anything rigorous by way of time series.
And there may not be ..but just from the people in my friendship group more women than men appear to have hayfever or asthma but I haven't seen any stats on this.
This is possible, but we also know that men and women have different approaches to healthcare so without a rigorous study we cannot say whether differences observed are due to differing rates of incidence or differing rates of self-reporting.
