The term residual to me implies (observed - predicted), which is the same as excess. So how does this "excess" come out so differently? Is this something like calculating excess based on a very short and rolling lookback period?

Are we gonna see just the 13 pruned branches from part 3?

It's excess based upon the whole period data rather than historic only. This is probably the last article I'll prepare on this subject for the time being.
